Kely Nascimento works with organizations to help define a focused identity and brand story, and to create partnership opportunities that align with their objectives. Her recent work has been focused on the Sports Diplomacy and sports for development sectors. As a speaker Kely travels the world and speaks on gender and race equity in sports, and the power of storytelling in promoting equity as well as a community and trust building tool to further the Sustainable Development Goals. Kely is a content producer and the director of Warriors of a Beautiful Game, a feature documentary, as part of a global multi-platform initiative to promote women's sports and gender equality (currently in post-production).
Kely has lectured, presented keynotes and moderated panels in collaboration with organizations such as Yale, Barça Foundation, Cannes Lions, French Teqball Federation, Federaçao Paulista de Futebol, amongst others. She is the global Ambassador for Gondwana FC and the Global Goals World Cup, a Global Advisor at LEAD.edu and currently sits on the Board of Directors of Beyond Sport Foundation.
Kely and her work have been featured in The Guardian (GB), Irish Times, Folha de São Paulo (Brazil), La Marca (Spain), AS Futbol (Colombia), Guardian Phillipines, among many others. Kely is the eldest daughter of Brazilian soccer legend Pelé and founder of the Nascimento Foundation whose mission is to achieve a global understanding of peace through sports, storytelling and the arts to facilitate diplomacy and development with the principals of equality, leadership and storytelling, She aims to harness the power of her father’s legacy towards building a more equitable, peaceful, and sustainable future. Kely is a proud recipient of the Face of Change award at SAID Institute’s 8th African Diaspora Awards Ceremony. She wholeheartedly believes that it is through the understanding, owning, and sharing, of our stories that we will create a more equitable world. “Storytelling strengthens our identities, teaches us about ourselves and each other and solidifies our bonds. It fosters empathy, and solidarity, builds community and allows us to claim our narratives. Our stories are our superpowers” Kely is a 2022 TEDx WaterStreet speaker.
